Electric Vehicle Charging Station Installed at Car Wash

An electric-vehicle charging station has been installed at Crossroads Car Wash, 64 Skokie Valley Road in Highland Park.

The ChargePoint station - supplied by Riverwoods-based Carbon Day Automotive and installed in May - will allow electric vehicle customers at Crossroads Car Wash to charge for free during detailing work, according to a city of Highland Park Office of Business Development news release.

“Many of our clients have EVs, and the new charger has been very popular with our customers since its installation,” said Earl Slavin, owner of Crossroads.

He said the addition “fits with our DNA.”

“We use environmentally friendly and biodegradable chemicals in our cleaning processes, and our goal is to provide maximum vehicle protection with minimal environmental impact,” Slavin said. “Adding this charging station is another step in our efforts to be both green and to serve our customers.”
